Reservation & Masks Update

Climbing Reservations are no more! Thank you all for your diligence in helping to create and maintain a safe space that has kept us open and kept our community healthy. Starting May 17th, if you are a fully vaccinated individual you may choose to wear a mask or not while at Ascent Studio.

Health and Safety Info & Policies

Our priority is to make sure we are doing everything we should to mitigate health risks to patrons in our facility. We are abiding by all of the Larimer County health guidelines, including requiring the wearing of masks or face coverings at all times when in the building. Please partner with us in helping to keep our community safe. It is important that we all look out for each other and do our best to keep each other healthy and climbing!

Please familiarize yourself with the policies to the right before deciding to come to our facility.

Ventilation at Ascent Studio

Because it has been shown that the coronavirus is most easily spread through airborne contamination, many people are interested in the ventilation and air handling in the gym.

Our RTUs (roof top units) for furnace/AC always bring in a portion of the air as fresh air. This is a normal modern building requirement. During the day, the fans in those units are running all the time (even if not heating or cooling). So the air in the building is continually being circulated through the systems, which pulls the air through two sets of filters. The pre-filters are changed/cleaned two times per week, which reduces the frequency at which we have to replace the MERV-8 filters in the RTUs (bimonthly).

We also have two types of circulation fans inside the building.

  • Destratification: Our fans are called Air Pears. These are the grey units hanging in the ceiling (look sort of like upside down pears). That's what keeps the warm air from being trapped at the ceiling. As these fans circulate the air this pulls chalk and virus particulates up into the higher parts of the building (away from the ground, where climbers hang out) to get pulled into the air return ducts (through the filters, before heating or cooling).
  • Chalk filtration: You will also see three grey chalk filter units sitting on top of the bouldering wall. These also circulate and filter the air continually, and those filters are changed/cleaned 1-2 times per week.
  • 1How do you feel?

Any person who is feeling sick or experiencing symptoms related to Covid-19 (vaccinated or not), or who has recently been exposed to someone who may have been infected, will not be allowed to come to the gym.

    • Symptoms include but are not limited to: fever, cough, shortness of breath, recent loss of taste or smell, or any other respiratory illness symptoms.
    2Social Distancing

According to the Larimer County Covid regulations, all patrons from different households must remain 6ft a part while exercising if you are not a fully vaccinated person.

    3Face Coverings

Update (5/16/21): Larimer County - The amended Executive Order states that fully vaccinated people can go without masks in public indoor spaces unless the setting requires otherwise.

Here at Ascent Studio we are allowing those that have been fully vaccinated to choose if you'd like to continue to wear a mask or not. If you have not been fully vaccinated, 2 weeks post final shot, please continue to wear a mask.

    4Checking In and Out Required

All visitors (climbers and spectators) must check in and check out. This will allow us to aid the health department with contact tracing if that is necessary.

    5Harness & Shoe Rentals
We are renting gear (harnesses and shoes) again!
    6Lead Ropes

We are no longer making lead ropes available. If you wish to lead climb, please bring your own lead rope (40M minimum length).

We sell 40M cuts of lead rope in our retail shop.

    Membership Status

First and foremost, we want to make sure you understand where your membership status stands upon reopening. All memberships that were frozen before and during the spring closure will REMAIN frozen until you tell us otherwise.

As of July 1st, our regular freeze fee of $7/month has been reinstated.

If you would like to remain frozen, you do not need to take any further action. If you would like to unfreeze, please do that before entering the building on your first day back. *Link Below*
