Construction Week 17

Construction Week 17

Last week was another busy one with a huge crew on site making rapid progress on several things in parallel. Most notably, French Concrete poured the slab on grade in two large pours. On Monday they poured the south half on which all of the climbing walls will sit. On Wednesday, they poured the remaining north half under the mezzanine. You can see in high speed all the hard work that goes into moving the heavy hoses around by hand. On both days we enjoyed watching the guys out on power trowels put a smooth finish on the freshly poured concrete. All week Evergreen continued on the exterior of the building as they do more of the detail work. Now that most of the steel is up, their major role on the project is beginning to wind down. With the slab in, the interior walls are starting to go up. Holsinger started framing out the interior at the end of the week and will be a major part of construction over the coming week.

Most of the time-lapse in this video is roughly 30 minutes of real-time per second of video, but we slowed it down for some portions. YouTube will let you change the playback speed if you want to see things more slowly or quickly. If you’ve got the bandwidth, you can also boost the resolution all the way up to 4K! Just click on the gear icon. If you’re viewing this on a computer, you can enable annotations in the YouTube menu to see who was doing was on which days.
