Construction Week 7

Construction Week 7

This last week saw almost all of the remaining concrete work for the building foundation. You’ll see that the concrete pump was out there on Tuesday filling forms with its long boom. After this, only the interior footing pads remained to be poured. Some of these footing pads support the columns of the building and the steel that holds up the mezzanine above the locker rooms. Others are strictly there to support the climbing walls. Despite some challenging weather on Wednesday, the crew at French Concrete was able to get all of these forms in place in time for the final foundation pour on the following Monday. Once the concrete has cured, which typically takes a week or so, Evergreen will start bolting down some massive pieces of steel. We’re all looking forward to watching cranes swing the big pieces of the building into place.

Each second of the video corresponds to 30 minutes of real-time footage (30 frames per second, 1 minute between frames). YouTube will let you change the playback speed if you want to see things more slowly. If you’ve got the bandwidth, you can also boost the resolution all the way up to 4K! Just click on the gear icon.

We’ll release a video every week, so stay tuned for the next construction update.
